BISD Speech and Language Therapy Program
The role of the speech -language pathologist is to evaluate a communication impairment which might negatively impact a
student's life within the school setting. The evaluation may include receptive and expressive language skills, articulation
skills, fluency, or voice. After the evaluation, the speech-language pathologist designs a therapy program and provides
treatment for students.

Susan Egelkraut
Susan has a B.A. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Marquette University, a M.A. in Speech and Language Pathology from Northwestern University and Certification of
Clinical Competence from The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Kristina Marcukaitis
Kris graduated from MSU with a B.A. and from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Master's of Science. She has a elementary teaching certificate and is a CCC-SLP. She has
worked for BISD as a CCC-SLP since the fall of 1997. She also has her Autism endorsement and has been named Barry County's Austism specialist since Fall 2004.

Nancy Martin
Nancy has a Master of Science Degree in Speech Pathology from Texas Christian University. She has a Professional Education Certificate and 15 years of experience.

Suzanne Heath Shorey
Suzanne has a B.A and M.A. in Speech Language Pathology from Western Michigan University. She has elementary education certification and is certified through the American Speech Hearing Association. She has been employed at Barry ISD since 1991.
